Although very glamorous from outside, acting is not a very smooth and easy job. Most of the times, our talented actors and actresses have to go through real transformations in order to portray a particular character convincingly. Following is the list of the ten actors who underwent massive mental as well as physical transformations for their roles in movies:

Remember John Abraham in “Force”? John had to work really hard in order to get the muscular physique he had in the movie flick. Getting such a body was even difficult for a fitness freak like him.

2) Farhan Akhtar:

In order to essay the role of Milkha Singh in the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Farhan Akhtar transformed his body from a lean look to have a more muscular body that could do justice to the part he was playing.

3) Abhishek Bachchan:

Abhishek might not have tasted much success in Bollywood, we cannot, however, ignore the fact that he had massively transformed himself for essaying the role of a wealthy and shrewd businessman in his most remembered film so far, Guru. He had to put on tonnes of weight for this purpose.

4) Priyanka Chopra:

The actress is not only ruling Bollywood but has also showcased her immense talent in Hollywood through her performances and dedication. The talented actress showed her commitment to the roles she performed in the biographical film “Mary Kom” in which she essays the role of the main lead. She had transformed herself and put on a very sporty look to look the part.

Bhumi is currently running high on her success in two consecutive movies, Toilet and Subh Mangal Savdhan. However, her most iconic transformation came in the role of a housewife which she played in the movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha!

Aamir Khan is called the Mr. perfectionist of the Indian film fraternity not just for any reason. He is said to not play the Character, but he literally becomes the character. He went for 8-packs abs for his movie Ghajini. He then transformed his body for 3 idiots and then in his recent flick Dangal he put on a massive amount of weight to portray the character of the old “Mahavir Phogat”.

9) Randeep Hooda:

Randeep Hooda is one of the finest actors of Bollywood today. He does his best for each role that he essays on the screen. Remember him in the movie Sarabjit where he had played the male protagonist? Well, the actor had undergone a massive transformation for that role. Not only did he lose all that weight but also went without taking bath for a number of days. The actor has said to have lost 18 kilograms in just a period of 28 days.

Did the Padmavati trailer sent you goosebumps? Well, it certainly did to me and although the entire cast looks fabulous in their roles the one character that stands out is that of Ranveer Singh who plays the main antagonist of the film, Alauddin Khilji. For the part, the dedicated actor underwent both mental and physical transformation. Did you know that in order to get into the skin of his character, Singh stayed locked in his apartment aloof from the outside world for a number of days? The actor admitted to consulting a psychiatrist to get out of Khilji’s character.

Thus, unlike otherwise thought of, it is very difficult to be an actor as you sometimes need to become a totally different person altogether!
